Wascosa appoints a new member of the Executive Board

The Swiss freight wagon specialist Wascosa based in Lucerne is strengthening its management team with the appointment of Markus Basler on 1 January 2017.

Markus Basler, a resident of Eschenbach (LU), is 47 years old and joined Wascosa in January 2016. With many decades of financial and management experience in the rail industry, he will play a pivotal role in the future success of Wascosa. Mr Basler will become Head of Controlling and a member of our management team as of 1 January 2017.

This move completes the Executive Board of Wascosa AG, which comprises includes Peter Balzer (CEO), Detlef Schlickelmann (COO), Fabian Stadler (CFO, Organisation & Strategic Projects), Irmhild Saabel (Chief Business Development Officer), Thomas Lippuner (Chief Sales Officer) and Markus Basler (Head of Controlling).

About Wascosa AG
The family business WASCOSA with headquarters in Luzern was established in 1964 and is one of the pioneers of the sector. The core business is the leasing and administration of freight wagons for rail traffic. WASCOSA purchases modern freight wagons to meet the requirements of the freight industry. The fleet ranges from tank wagons for the chemical and mineral oil industry through wagons for combined transport to wagons for the transport of bulk goods. 50 people are employed at the base in Luzern which deals with the national and international customers.
