The project ‘New standards for the safety engineering of pressure tank wagons’ is winner of this year’s ‘Responsible Care’ prize of the Chemical Industry Association of North Rhine-Westphalia (VCI NRW) in the category ‘Transport safety’. The prize was awarded on the Parliamentary evening of the VCI NRW on 1st June. Prof. Dr. Dröscher, Cluster Manager Chemical of North Rhine-Westphalia and Chairman of the Jury, made the presentation speech:
‘Grillo together with Wascosa have developed a pressure tank wagon which, due to its innovative safety features, has increased the safety in the area of tank wagon transport considerably. In the meantime more than 1,000 of this type are successfully running in service, and European regulations have already been revised as a result of these new developments. This significant improvement in transport safety in the field of rail transport impressed the jury and was a winner in the category transport safety.’
Together with the Deputy President of the Parliament, Dr Papke, and the Chairman of the Board of VCI NRW, Dr Hilken, Dr Dröscher presented the prize to Dr Schulte, Managing Director Chemical of Grillo-Werke AG.

The family business WASCOSA with headquarters in Luzern was established in 1964 and is one of the pioneers of the sector.
