Operative management of WASCOSA in new hands

WASCOSA AG, the most innovative freight wagon hirer in Europe, is aiming to continue its successful expansion and further development of the company through a personnel reshuffle in its operative management. Philipp Müller, who has been in charge of the Swiss family-run business for more than 20 years, will be placing the operative management in new hands as of mid-April 2014. In future he will concentrate on the strategic further development of WASCOSA.

Philipp Müller has decided after more than 20 years of operative management to hand over to Peter Balzer in mid-April 2014. Peter Balzer, the new CEO, is 57 years old and lives in Oberwil near Basel and in Lucerne. He brings with him decades of experience in management, logistics and project management and has accompanied WASCOSA for over ten years in various topics as an external consultant. «I am delighted that we have found a very capable and competent CEO in Peter Balzer, who will stand for both continuity and the qualitative further development of WASCOSA», says Philipp Müller, Delegate of the Board of Directors.

«Splitting the former management into an operative sector and the strategic management tasks of the Board of Directors has enabled the correct and comprehensive separation of functions in a company of our size thanks to established structures», continues Philipp Müller.

A further change relates to the Board of Directors of WASCOSA. Norbert H. Kern, a long-standing member of the Board of Directors, will be retiring due to old age and for health reasons. During his time in office he left his mark and played a key role in shaping the company. During this period WASCOSA profited from Norbert Kern's personal contacts to leading European freight traffic companies, something that on the whole contributed to the pleasing growth of the last few years. His untiring dedication has earned him a very special thank you, as has his wealth of experience that he was able to pass on to the entire team at WASCOSA.
