‘More wagons – more ideas!’ - Wascosa and its partners exhibit an array of new products at transport logistic 2019

In the “Wascosa Village" at stand 704/5, platform 3/3, this year’s trade fair visitors can look forward to new wagons and new ideas from Wascosa and its co-exhibitors BASF, HOYER and Van Hool, as well as partner companies InRoll, Sternico and Sersa.

Together, the various companies are presenting their innovations in the area of rail freight transport,  from the digitalisation of the maintenance management of freight wagons to the use of service train modules for infrastructure, all the way to bulk goods wagons for highly corrosive freight with flexible unloading capacities.

Digital data exchange optimises maintenance of freight wagons

With the COMAP platform, Sternico has developed a tool that enables electronic data exchange between wagon owners and workshops for complete maintenance management. Thanks to digital networking and standardisation, the data quality for maintenance and operations can be dramatically increased and lead times shortened. In short, greater efficiency for workshops and wagon owners, and greater competitiveness for rail freight transport!

‘Digitalisierung der Güterwageninstandhaltung’ (Digitalisation in freight wagon maintenance) will be presented at 4 pm on Wednesday 5 June 2019 in the Wascosa Village.

Wascosa flex freight system® with even more applications

Developed together with BASF, the Wascosa flex freight system® for chemical products was introduced for the first time by Wascosa at transport logistic 2017. This year, BASF is presenting its new, innovative BASF Class Tank Containers (B-TC) as well as the driverless automated guided vehicle, which is being used to carry out in-plant B-TC transport in Ludwigshafen along the road between the new, fully automated tank container depot and the loading operations.

A brand new area of application for the Wascosa flex freight system® is railway-connected construction site logistics. The relatively short four-axle container-carrying wagon with high carrying capacity is optimally suited to the transportation of bulk goods with a high specific weight, such as gravel, sand and excavated material, as well as aggregate containers or mobile crane modules. Together with its Swiss partner Sersa, Wascosa is presenting the Wascosa flex freight system® for service train modules in the Wascosa Village.

New bulk freight wagon Tanpps – a wagon for centred and lateral unloading

Developed together with Kali + Salz, the Tanpps wagon offers an optimal ratio of maximum loading and minimal wagon length for the best possible unloading behaviour of products. The wagon was designed for the transportation of fertilisers and salts and includes a special inner coating to protect from corrosion. The loading and unloading equipment is robust and easy to operate.

The Tanpps will be presented at 10 am on Wednesday 5 June 2019 in the Wascosa Village.
