WASCOSA presents numerous innovations at the 2015 transport logistic

WASCOSA will once again be there when the "Who’s who" of the industry meet up again between 5 and 8 May 2015 at the world's biggest trade fair for transport and logistics in Munich. Europe's first provider of freight wagon systems will once again be presenting innovations from the latest additions to its fleet of cars as well as service innovations connected to its realignment as Europe's first provider of freight wagon systems under the motto of this year's trade fair "Future next Exit" in the outdoor area, block 704/6, track 3/3.

The record attendance at the last transport logistic speaks for itself: with 2,013 exhibitors from 63 countries, the event was better attended than ever before. The high presence of international exhibitors was very remarkable: 45% were from abroad. The leading European trade fair is thus well on its way to becoming a world fair.

"Not only is the trade fair itself well on the way to becoming a world fair, WASCOSA is also on the way into the future and once again presents innovations from the latest additions to its fleet of cars that allow higher productivity and reduced transport costs thanks to innovative wagon design," says Peter Balzer, the new WASCOSA-CEO of one year.

For example, the Swiss company presents a hopper car, 130 m3 Tagnpps with lateral sliding roof for products that are sensitive to moisture that has a 2.8 tons higher payload thanks to an 11 percent lower tare weight. The freight wagon can be loaded easier and better thanks to a 33 percent bigger loading opening and unloaded faster and better thanks to a 30 percent larger unloading opening.

The second freight car innovation is a silo car, 82 m3 aluminium Uacns to transport powdery goods. This type of car scores top marks through a low tare weight thanks to the aluminium tank, greater productivity thanks to a higher payload of 72.2 tons and quicker and easier unloading thanks to a central product connection.

Range of new and innovative services
Clear the rails! Freight traffic on the roads has been "intelligent" for several years. Every road carrier can track exactly what is going on thanks to telematics systems. "If our customers cannot track their fleet of cars in terms of their location, mileage and any incidents, they can't improve their logistics either," says WASCOSA CEO Peter Balzer. In cooperation with the telematics pioneers kasasi from Kempten, WASCOSA presents a modern telematics solution: "WASCOSA Asset Intelligence" as a new and innovative service in the Wascosa Efficiency Module, one of the ten modules in WASCOSA's system provider approach. The modern software platform NIC-base that is already very successful on the roads is a neutral telematics solution that allows a company to integrate various telematics manufacturers on one platform. "With kasasi we have also found a partner who can already offer us a finished and established solution. This scalable solution puts us in a position where we can react very quickly to new demands in the field of rail telematics. A further advantage is the option of easily integrating further units alongside the fleet of car such as trucks, trailers, containers, ships, etc.", explains Peter Balzer.
Another new service, WASCOSA Net, provides WASCOSA customers with up-to-date information about their fleet of cars, putting them in complete control. WASCOSA Net is an open and neutral Business-Intelligence-Solution – an information centre about the car – developed by the Basel software company Informatec in close cooperation with WASCOSA. Via a personal and protected online access as well as secure data transfer, WASCOSA Net allows customers to monitor all relevant data and documents, such as key performance indicators (KPI), status information and availability figures for the car.

A complete security package for new car projects in connection with the procurement and quality assurance of new rolling stock is the third new service presented by WASCOSA at the trade fair. The offer for procurement and quality assurance is unique. The security package supports the contractual development, manufacture, commissioning and delivery of vehicles – in line with the time schedules, costs and requirements. The benefits of this security package speak for themselves: a minimisation of expenses and risks for new car projects, operational excellence for the rolling stock in use and greater efficiency in rail logistics.

Interesting co-exhibitors
Partners once again presented first-hand quality solutions with a future. For example the software house kasasi from Kempten, with whom the "WASCOSA Asset Intelligence" solution was developed. The software house Informatec from Basel presents the WASCOSA Net solution that was developed together with WASCOSA. WHPC, another co-exhibitor, are ink professionals who can apply inks directly onto metal with a single layer method thanks to the latest technologies. The 4-company presence is rounded off by Knorr Brake Company, a firm that has gained a sound reputation with proven and innovative products.
